FALSE WITNESSES
A seeminly random drive-by shooting in Long Beach, CA goes
unsolved. Ballistic evidence sets off alarms in Washington, DC
nearly a year after the killing. Detective Sam Devereaux is
assigned a visiting investigator from the CIA to work the case.
He is kept out of the "loop" for reasons of "National Security."
Devereaux goes ballistic himself and is finally told the identity
of the suspected killer and the chase is on. The hunt reaches
from Long Beach to the corridors of the CIA and a chilling climax
on a ferry boat during a raging Northwest snowstorm.

REVIEWS:

- A must read! This book had me from the first page. I could not put it down, but I also did not want to finish it and have it be over. The characters became like old friends and I was anxious to read what would happen next. I love a good murder mystery and this book ranks up there with any James Patterson novel! I am eagerly awaiting any new novels from this author! (Mary, Sept 7, 2007)

- I love a mystery that keeps me on the edge of my reading chair and this plot held my attention to the very end. The author's descriptions of both the Long Beach, CA and Bremerton, WA areas were very vivid. I felt that I had made the journey on the Puget Sound Ferry along with the characters. (Marianne, Sept 6, 2007)

- Suspenseful and exciting throughout the story; the ending left me rather breathless! It was hard to put down. (Doglady, Aug. 28, 2007)

REVIEWS:

- I bought Teaching Collette a while back and planned to read it on holiday...but I was tempted by the first few pages.....I never laid the book down from that point until I had finished the novel, I even took it to the loo!

It is a great read, very believable and cleverly written to draw you on and on, and at a really steady pace. There are no dull moments, I was captivated throughout, and he has a great talent for writing a tale, from love, drama, sex to sad twists and some tears.

I can relate to the author/Nick Jericho in many ways, but I'd love to have the author’s talent. I have often looked into the mirror and thought....”my eyes were like maraschino cherries in a glass of buttermilk."

Forego a beer with Nick Jericho and Harvey at the bar, save the bucks for a blindingly good read..Teaching Collette is a must buy book. (Andy Hageman, June 11, 2008)

- This was an absolutely wonderful read. The characters were like old friends and I had to know what would happen next. This is a book I will re-read many times. I felt so connected to the characters and their story, I wanted them to have the 'and they all lived happily ever after'. J. Leslie Adams goes right for the heart in this book and leaves you feeling like you learned an important life lesson. Take nothing for granted. (Mary Flemming, Sept. 25, 2007)
