About Bunjii.

Bunjii was a foundling, one of two brought to me by a friend when I lived in southern California,
two weeks after 9/11. I bottle fed him and his sister, Rosebud ("Rosie") and they thrived. After two
years of a divorce, I had to sell our house. I moved with three cats, the two mentioned above
and Satchel, who was a year older. We lived in a quonset hut cottage on my sister's ranch in
Ventura County for fifteen months. Because of wild animals on that property, Bunjii and the
other two became "House" cats. They have not been allowed to run loose outdoors since.
We moved to Ohio on October 1, 2005.

In June of last year (2008) Bunjii developed a tumor on his right shoulder. It was removed in
surgery but proved to be malignant. We were told it would probably return, and it did.
It has been a struggle, but we have stayed close through this. The family will miss our buddy.
I will miss him getting on my right shoulder and watching me work on the computer. I will miss
his quiet meow and the way he loved to play with the little laser light.

The compact we make when we bring home a cat is simple:
As a pet, all I expect from you is love and an occassional purr.
As a human I promise to care for you and love you back.

Bunjii and I kept that covenant.
